  • 09 Sep, 2021
  • 04:30 PM - 06:00 PM

India is one of the fastest growing wealth management markets in the world and is expected to be fourth largest private wealth market globally by 2028. The capital markets are always seen as a reflection of the economic health and growth of a country. Today, the Indian capital markets truly reflect one of the fastestgrowing economies in the world. For speedy economic development, adequate capital formation is necessary, and the capital market has a crucial significance to capital formation. Capital market serves as a crucial link between saving and investment process as it transfers money from savers to entrepreneurial borrowers. Intermediaries occupy an indispensable and pivotal space in today’s capital market. While some trade dealings may involve only a single intermediary entity, more complex transactions comprise networks and chains of intermediaries at different levels. Thus, market intermediaries operate as the bridge between capital providers and capital seekers

Intermediaries possess professional expertise and play a promotional role in organising a perfect match between the supply and demand for capital in the market. SEBI provide for regulatory requirements in respect of registration, obligations and responsibilities, inspection and enforcement of various types of capital market intermediaries such as broker dealers, clearing members, depository participants, investment bankers, portfolio managers, investment advisers, custodians, credit rating agencies, debenture trustees and account aggregators.

With the growing number of market participants, the role of intermediaries have become more prominent and essential for building the ecosystem of capital markets as they are service providers and are an integral part of the capital market. Further, with the rapid increase in the number of participants, the number of intermediaries have also increased in the Indian capital market. Therefore, with a view to discussing various important issues of intermediaries in the capital market, ASSOCHAM is organising a Webinar on Redefining Role of Intermediaries on 9th September, 2021 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In view of the importance of the subject, we are glad to invite you to attend the Webinar at 4:30 P.M. on 9th September, 2021.
