Panel Deliberation on Draft UAS/Drones Rules 2021

  • 30 Jul, 2021
  • 12:00 PM - 01:30 PM

India continues to address ongoing COVID 19 crisis and at the same time needs to be vigilant for security reasons and well prepared for exigencies including natural disasters (earthquakes, tsunamis, forest-fire, floods). Drones or the UAVs have the ability to play a key role in combating these by providing services such as disinfecting contaminated areas, managing crowds and delivering medical supplies at no-time at remote and difficult to reach destinations, owing to geographical conditions. They empower response teams to map areas and conduct risk and damage assessment promptly, locate victims in real-time, enable faster and safer search and rescue operations thereby minimizing loss of lives.

The Government of India has notified Draft UAS/ Drone Rules 2021 and has requested industry inputs on various provisions there in. The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) is pleased to organise a virtual panel deliberation on captioned subject on Friday 30th July, 2021 from 12:00 to 01:30 pm. Where representatives from the Government, Government Agencies, Industry associated with UAV/Drone Manufacturing companies and the Startups will deliberate on various related issues. The Industry inputs will be submitted to Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt of India.

Topics for Discussions:

  • Draft UAS Rules 2021: Gaps, Challenges & Solutions
  • Role of UAVs in Civil and Commercial operations
  • Registration, ownership, export, import, manufacture, leasing, operating and maintaining of unmanned aircraft systems as per draft rule 2021.
