National Webinar onParadigm Shift on Agri Inputs:Challenges and A way Forward

The last few years have been towards strengthening the foundations, for accelerated agriculture growth and the Government's pledge of “doubling farmers’ income. The Agri-input sector industry has been posting impressive growth annually, slightly disrupted owing to Covid.  As we are expecting the Global Population to reach USD 9 Billion by 2050 this would require twice the food to be produced from the constant land area. This certainly requires innovative thinking to enhance productivity and ensure sustainability. More production from less land can be accomplished only with the combination of Quality Seeds, Quality Inputs & Farm Practices. 

What is required now is to unleash the full potential of agriculture with a paradigm shift in public-private partnership and the spirit of cooperative federalism. Crop productivity, quality seeds and value chain linkages will be a challenge in the future with the increasing population and hence demand for more productive harvest and collaboration in the value chain. There is a need for technological intervention, new business models and greater engagement of key players.

In this regard, ASSOCHAM is hosting the webinar “Paradigm Shift on Agri Inputs: Challenges and a Way Forward\" on 1 July 2021 from 3 pm onwards to engage stakeholders to develop linkages to identify and prioritize the challenges and develop strategies to support the stakeholders.
